"The original piece, 'Womb Work' is an oil painted 20' by 30' inch canvas created at the beginning of 6shorty's painting career in the fall of 2021. The painting was inspired by the idea that the womb of a woman carries not only life, but also trauma and anxiety passed through generations. The light of the Divine Feminine continues to shine through all adversity. As women, we carry our ancestors with us fearlessly and relentlessly. The 'glow' references the power behind tapping into both the Solar Plexus and Root chakras, also known as Manipura and Muladhara. Through active work in our chakras (as seen in the womb), we are better equipped to lead villages and honor the lineage of our inherent matriarchy. Many have also referenced the painting in connection to motherhood and barring children. The artist encourages multiple perspectives and honors all interpretations of Womb Work."
